The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care has developed the Delirium Clinical Care Standard to provide a national approach to improving the prevention, diagnosis and management of delirium. This new Clinical Care Standard will help identify older patients at risk so preventive measures can be put in place and help improve the early diagnosis and treatment of delirium to minimise harm.
In addition, clinician and consumer fact sheets, indicator specifications: Delirium Clinical Care Standard and data collection tools have been developed to support local monitoring of the standard to assist clinicians, consumers and health services to improve safety and quality of care.
